For the organizers of an international skydiving competition we created the Skydiving World Cup event website. The site serves as the main information hub for competitors, spectators, and sponsors, featuring live results, registration, and a media gallery.
Key project outcomes
The Skydiving World Cup is a prestigious international skydiving competition held in Klatovy. The website serves as the central platform for competitor registration, live results publishing, media content sharing, and sponsor communication.
The project included the design of a visually striking website, an online competitor registration system, a live results module, and a media gallery with photos and videos from previous editions.
- Visually striking event website with a dynamic design
- Online competitor registration with a payment gateway
- Live results module with running standings
- Media gallery with photos and videos from the events
- Sponsor section with partner profiles and sponsorship packages
Challenges & solutions
An event website must handle burst traffic — from minimal visits in the off-season to thousands of simultaneous visitors during the competition weekend. At the same time it must be attractive and fast even on mobile devices.
Project challenges:
The website must work flawlessly during the live results broadcast, when hundreds of spectators refresh the page at the same time, while remaining easy for the organizers to update without technical knowledge.
Live results under high load
During the competition, hundreds of spectators follow the results in real time. The system had to handle the burst load without outages and display up-to-date data with minimal latency.
Multilingual content for an international audience
The competition attracts competitors from all over the world. The website had to be available in Czech and English with fast language switching without losing the context of the current page.
Our solution:
We used static generation for the informational pages and Server-Sent Events for the live results. This hybrid approach ensured maximum performance even under the high load during the competition.
- Hybrid architecture — static pages for content, real-time for results
- Server-Sent Events for live results with automatic reconnection
- Registration system with online payment and automatic invoicing
- CDN distribution for fast loading of media content from the gallery
